i dont think a single score works though. an inference subnet and a data one fail in totally different ways, ranking them on the same axis just hides the thing you care about

this is the right question to be asking honestly. for me it comes down to a few boring things i can verify myself. is the api up when i hit it cold, has the repo moved in the last month, and can i find one person outside the team whos actually using it for something real. the discord noise i mostly tune out because the loudest ones are usually the ones with the least under the hood. none of its perfect but at least its mine and not someone elses hype

my process is i look at the logo. good logo good subnet. never been wrong, dont check my receipts

real. i wish there was a boring scorecard somewhere instead of all this guessing. would save me hours

yeah pretty much my workflow too. i poke the api, check if its been updated recently, then close my eyes and pray lol

and even within one category the metric thats easy to measure is rarely the one that matters. uptime looks great until you realize the output is garbage. measure the wrong thing and you rank the wrong winner

do you weight uptime or do you mostly go off whether the api actually returns useful stuff? ive been torn on which matters more for the ones i hold
