THREE SPREADSHEETS that dont agree is so real lmao 😂 what columns are you even tracking, maybe thats the problem. i bet two of them are tracking the same thing differently
spreadsheets are where good intentions go to die honestly. i kept one for two weeks then never opened it again. the manual entry is what kills it, you skip one day and the whole thing is wrong forever
spreadsheets are fine but yours disagree because youre tracking cost basis three different ways probably. the tool isnt the issue, your inputs are. fix the columns before you blame the sheet
do any of the apps actually pull positions automatically or do you still type everything in? if im hand-entering anyway i might as well stick with the spreadsheet. whats the actual win
i used to swear by a tracker app. then it broke on an api change and i lost a week of data and didnt notice for ten days. came back around to a dead simple spreadsheet i update on sundays. less is more turned out to be true for me, which i did not expect to say
i was firmly spreadsheet team and gonna defend it. but reading this i realize mine has also been wrong for like a month and i just stopped trusting it. maybe the spreadsheet isnt the move after all
my tracking system is a vague sense of dread and the occasional cold sweat. very lightweight, no maintenance
